IamANT's blog about painting, drawing, ufc, culture, and food
I'm an artist living and working in Atlanta, GA. When I was a little boy I looked up at the sky and saw all of these different shapes. It was a clear blue sky so the shapes weren't clouds, but lines. Ever since that day I see lines and shapes everywhere I look. The lines flow, bend, turn, and come back into one another. This is how I see the world around me and inside of my mind. I follow the lines where ever they are going to take me. I want to take traditional subject matter and compositions, but paint them in a completely non-traditional style. I work mainly in acrylic on tile board with oil based paint markers. I draw and painting subject metter from landscapes to figures, to abstract shapes.
This blog is a merging point for all of my creative endevours, opinions, and thoughts in general.

On Hiatus, but great things are coming in the next couple of months |
I wanted to write and let everyone know that I have been, and will continue to be on hiatus from blogging until mid February or early March. I haven’t been dormant though…I have been working on something big (creatively speaking), that will change the focus of this blog and my artistic direction forever. Good stuff!
Thanks to everyone for reading and commenting this past year in 2009.
2010 will be even better!
Cheers.

The Cycle of Trees: Growth, Death, & Rebirth |
A Tree grows and it dies in the end, but before it dies, a tree goes through a cycle of growth, death, and rebirth. The process of reviving and sprouting new leaves conitnues on and on throughout the years.
The rebirth cycle of trees is never ending.
Though trees may grow so high, the falling leaves return to the roots below. Even the acorn that falls can create a thousand forests. When a tree's leaf trembles, does it not yearn to turn to the earth below? The cycle of growth, death, and rebirth abounds.

God Bless YouTube: Crazy Ranting Preachers |
So here's the first post in the "Good Bless YouTube" series: Crazy Preachers. There are many, many forms of crazy preachers out there. You have the street preachers screaming at people out in public, the campus preachers yelling at half hung over college students, and finally the public access/bad internet site preachers with their own TV shows. Thanks to the wonderful technology of YouTube we can now watch these wackos in the comfort of our own home and laugh our collective social media viewing asses off.
I think the two best crazy ass preachers on YouTube are with out a doubt The Spirit of Truth AKA Reverend X and Pastor Manning from Harlem. The Spirit of Truth is some crack head I think, who knows. This guy was on public access in L.A. back in 96/97 all slanted eyed, cracked out, and ranting. Awesome. Pastor Manning is this black, traditional, Harlem preacher who is completely obsessed with president Obama and hates everything about him. There is nothing I can say other than just watch the video and see for yourself.

My Thanksgiving skin peeling threat |
Let me just tell you, I'm a real southern bitch...and if you do anything to hurt my niece (referring to my GF), I'll peel the hide off of you, and do you want to know where I'll start?
